Last week, the Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) announced the successful signing of 130 contracts, a record-breaking milestone as the highest number ever signed in a single allocation round!
AR6 features a diverse range of technologies, from wind and solar power to innovative solutions such as tidal energy and floating offshore wind. This diversification strengthens Great Britain’s renewable energy portfolio, paving the way for reduced emissions, lower consumer costs, and enhanced energy security.
Once operational, these projects will deliver 9.58 GW of renewable energy capacity, increasing the total Contracts for Difference (CfD) capacity to 35.74 GW. This achievement underscores Great Britain’s dedication to achieving its Net Zero targets and expanding its low-carbon energy generation capabilities.
