Suppliers have until the 30 September 2017 to apply for a determination that an amount of electricity supplied is Green Excluded Electricity (GEE) for the quarterly obligation period 1 January 2017 to 31 March 2017. Suppliers seeking a determination that an amount of electricity supplied is GEE must be in accordance with the Contracts for Difference (Electricity Supplier Obligations) Regulations 2014.
Suppliers should submit applications to EMRS via email who calculate the exemption on behalf of Low Carbon Contracts Company. Where the amount of electricity is determined as GEE , this will be taken into account in the quarterly reconciliation calculation as a retrospective amendment. The amount will be exempted from the Suppliers daily and quarterly contribution.
