The Baseload Market Reference Price (BMRP) for the calculation season Summer 2023, which covers 1 April 2023 to 30 September 2023 is 207.07 £/MWh. This is now available on the Settlement Data for CfD Generators on the EMRS website.

How will the BMRP be used?

BMRP is used to calculate CfD payments to Baseload Generators for Baseload Difference Amounts. When the BMRP is below a pre-agreed £/MWh value (Strike Price), as set out in a CfD Generator’s contract, top-up payments are made by LCCC to the CfD Generator to make up the difference between the BMRP and the Strike Price. When the BMRP is above the Strike Price, the CfD Generator pays LCCC the difference

How is the BMRP calculated?

EMRS calculates the BMRP on behalf of LCCC. The BMRP is published on a seasonal basis in accordance with the Contract for Difference Standard Terms and Conditions. It is calculated using volume weighted average prices based on Baseload Forward Season Contracts reported by LEBA.

BMRP for Winter 2023 will be published in October 2023.

What are previous BMRP values?

The BMRP for the Winter 2022 season to 31 March 2023 was 405.26 £/MWh. For further historical BMRP values, please go to Settlement Data for CfD Generators on the EMRS website.
