EMRS, on behalf of The Electricity Settlements Company (ESC), would like to inform Capacity Providers that on 25 October 2019, the European Commission has confirmed that the GB Capacity Market scheme is compatible with EU State Aid rules. On 25 October 2019 the Secretary of State notified the Electricity Settlements Company Limited (ESC) of the Commission’s decision and confirmed the occurrence of the deferred capacity payment trigger event and T-1 capacity agreement trigger event for the purposes of the relevant regulations. This notification triggers the restart of the GB Capacity Market scheme.

Guidance document G22 – Capacity Market Settlement Restart has been published on the EMRS website and outlines the collection of the Standstill Collection Period Supplier Charges, Credit Cover and invoicing dates as per the regulations.
