On 9 June 2017, EMRC124 was issued to remind Suppliers they have until the 30 June 2017 to apply for a determination that an amount of electricity supplied is Green Excluded Electricity (GEE) for the quarterly obligation period 1 October 2016 to 31 December 2016.
Suppliers seeking a determination that an amount of electricity supplied is GEE must be in accordance with the Contracts for Difference (Electricity Supplier Obligations) Regulations 2014.
Suppliers should submit applications to EMRS via email who calculate the exemption on behalf of Low Carbon Contracts Company.
Where the amount of electricity is determined as GEE , this will be taken into account in the quarterly reconciliation calculation as a retrospective amendment. The amount will be exempted from the Suppliers daily and quarterly contribution.
