On 12 February ELEXON launched Consultation on EMR data flows: Potential mechanisms for parties to exchange data with EMR Settlement Systems.

As part of implementing Electricity Market Reform (EMR) responsibility for settlement of Contracts for Difference and the Capacity Market with generators, suppliers and capacity providers will sit with the Contract for Difference (CFD) Counterparty and the Capacity Market (CM) Settlement Body, and this will be delivered through ELEXON as Settlement Agent.

ELEXON is currently procuring an IT provider to build and operate the IT Settlement Systems to calculate and invoice CM and CFD payments, and to be able to exchange electronic data flows with a variety of market participants and data providers. And as part of this, ELEXON is seeking views from stakeholders on their preferred interface to exchange electronic data flows.

Who should respond to this consultation?

If you are a licensed suppliers, generators or capacity provider, we’d like to hear your views. The consultation also asks the views of supplier agents, specifically Half Hourly Data Aggregators (HHDAs), on a proposed mechanism for providing data to the EMR settlement systems.

Responses to this consultation are due by 7 March 2014.
