DESCRIPTION:On 5 November 2015\, DECC launched the consultation on the Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) and Electricity Settlements Company (ESC) operational costs 2016/17. \nThis consultation is seeking views on the proposed 2016/17 operational cost budgets and resulting levies for the LCCC and the ESC. The operational costs of these companies are recovered through levies on electricity Suppliers\, as set out in legislation. The consultation closes on 3 December 2015 and responses can be emailed to emroperationalcosts@decc.gsi.gov.uk. \nFollowing the outcome of the consultation\, the operational cost levy rates for 2016/17 will be reflected in secondary legislation\, which is intended to be laid in Parliament in early 2016\, to come into force (subject to the will of Parliament) before 1 April 2016.

The presentation material is available\, the agenda and presentation slides for those that weren’t able to attend the event. \nAdditional Information: \n\nFor more information about Energy Intensive Industries (EII) please see the guidance document on the LCCC website\, although this is likely to change subject to the outcome of State Aid approval which is currently pending.\n\n\nLCCC and EMRS are waiting on the outcome of the current Ofgem consultation before we publish more guidance on Green Excluded Electricity.\n\n\nLCCC publish details of all the contracts we currently manage. These are held in the publically accessible CFD Register on our website.\n\n\nTo access the Transparency Tool\, please register as a Supplier on the LCCC website. DESCRIPTION:DECC is seeking views on a number of changes to the electricity Capacity Market (CM)\, the way in which we ensure adequate electricity capacity is available in GB. The most significant of these will ensure that new-build generating plant which win agreements in the CM auction face the right incentives and penalties to ensure that they deliver fully and according to their agreements. This is intended to ensure that the mechanism operates as intended to maintain high levels of security of supply.
